New CZ/ Editing software.

New CZ/ Editing software.

2001-04-03 by psychotropicsounds@hotmail.com

Hi

I've had my CZ3000 for a week now and I really love the sounds I've
been creating on it. I'd been considering saving up for a more costly
digital machine, but when I came across the CZ I saw enough potential
in it to grab it instead! I find the sound to be both warm and
bright. The phase distortion synthesis is fairly unique and intuitive
to use if you come from an analogue programming background. It has
given me access to most of the digital sounds that I was hoping to
unearth. It has a kind of character that to me is lacking in a lot of
modern digital gear. Its also quite nice with a bit of basic effects
processing...

With those 6 multi stage envelope generators programming would be
pretty hard going if it weren't for the 3rd paty software editors out
there. I use an Atari for this purpose and have found some good
editors for the CZ at the following site:

http://sites.netscape.net/timconrardy/timidi.htm

My favourite is "CZandroid" in the Hybrid Arts section there. It has
grapic displays for all 6 envelopes. If you are an Atari user make
sure you check out the other apps on the site. It really is the most
valuable collection of Atari-midi software on line-- and say hello to
Tim there if you drop by!

Regards
Adam

Great link!!!

Especially since there's also a ST Emulator with midi capabilities online. I
haven't tried it yet but when using that emulator the software should also
work on a PC...

Yeah, good point. Its amazing that the Atari emulator will work on a
PC with midi apps. Quite reassuring for me, as at the moment I only
have the Atari. One day I may need the PC version to open my files.

Yes! That would be great! We could probably even archive the android
program itself here along with others we come across....

Hallo!

I am new to this list but a member of the Atari-Midi list.

This is the site of Tim Conrardy the Owner of the Atari-Midi list!
If you have an Atari for musical application you should really join
this list!!!

STeem: This Atari ST Emulator really works with midi. The midi
sequencer can also use the midi synth on the PC soundcard!!!
Also sequencer programs work fine - but only the versions without a
dongle as there is no ROM port...

Hi Peter

I came across fom Atari-Midi as well.
The comments I've heard about Steem are very encouraging, although I
haven't used it yet. Thankfully my ST is still going strong.
