VZ-10m Pixel problems

VZ-10m Pixel problems

2005-09-15 by yazzofever

I just got my VZ and well...I'm having too much fun to write a review
but I will shortly.

My unit does show a problem though with the screen. Sometimes when I'm
working in menus the screen get's all out of whack and starts to
scramble some pixels around and jumble up some of the words. When I
refresh the menu it goes away.

Does anyone else have this problem with their VZ? Is this a sign for
bad things to come?

I read an earlier post that spoke about almost the same problem with a
Hohner series VZ.

Is is a internal problem or just a bug with the system?

I bought my VZ used about 1999 and the display showed similar problems, but it
wasn't packed well for shipping anyway. Since it's been a while since I opened
the VZ I'm not sure anymore what exaclty I did but I think it improved a bit
after opening the display and cleaning the contacts between electronics and when
combining display and electronics, I pressed the the two parts together as hard
as possible.

It should look like this...

Mine is still shifting a few lines every now and then, but I hardly see the
display since CZ and VZ are place above each other on a Keyboard holder, and
besides turning off the memory protection I mostly use the computer to control
the VZ-1...

I don't think it's a serious problem, in my case the Keyboard suffered from
transportation as well, so I had to open the synth anyway, fortunately it wasn't
too hard to fix...
