My CZ-1 needs a sound cartridge

My CZ-1 needs a sound cartridge

2006-01-24 by steve arce

Hello, I'm the drummer in a local original band in O.C. and currently we're working on our first demo. I've been a musician for awhile now ( years! )and have lot's of past and current material as well as pix I've been meaning to put on my own website to have some way of letting anyone who is interested, hear what I've did and what I'm doing. I invited a guy who I met while visiting a mutual friend came over to listen to some of my recording's/demo's and talk about music in general, and what my band is doing now in our recording/rehearsal studio. During the coversation, I mentioned how I would like to buy a keyboard for my own possible creative input and working on some midi background sounds during my drum solo to enhance my performance. He tell's me he dig's our tunes, then say's if I would beintersted in this keyboard he has for sale, in great condition. I said "Hell yes!", only one problem, but if I find the missing part he would sell it for $100.00. I said if I don't? He said to
keep it and do whatever with it because has never been able to find the one. I took it. Later he said to keep it. he didn't want it anymore. So, now I'm hoping if there's anyone who know's what I can do to make this work with either another cartridge or who to contact, it would be put to excellant use. Can anyone guide me in the direction I wish to venture through, and help me get the catridge or the fix so I may use this, especially since I have CakeWalk/Sonor and have using my PC to make midi tunes and polish the files of midi cover music done of the popular tunes and ones I play to with my drums-live!?? Yes, I play real live drums to the most awsome midi file's I totally dig. Even though there's no vocals, some are done so well, it's like playing with the best musician's I've been inspired by for many years! Rush, Yes, Genesis, etc......please send my anything you can! Thanks

Hi,

you know that you don't need a cartridge to make the CZ-1 usable. The CZ-1 comes
without one, and the presets sounds can be retrieved with for instance a factory
reset (should be holding init while switching the synth on and pressing the Yes
button to confirm)...

Okay, if you could please excuse the late email. I really want to get
this going so, I found the "init" button but what button are you
talking about "pressing 'yes", where is it located exactly? The only
button that says "yes" is the cursor button, so can you tell me and
describe where? I hope you can help me, I've had this for awhile and
am getting to the point where I want to have it looked at by a tech
to get it working-Thanks--- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, "Summa"

Re: [CZsynth] Re: My CZ-1 needs a sound cartridge

Hi,

it's mentioned on page 64 of the CZ-1 manual you can download from Casio New
Zealand. I had to do it once or twice when my CZ-1 had hickups due to a problem
with the backlight.

Here's the procedure...

(1) While the power of the unit is off, press and hold down the INITIALIZE key
and switch power on.

You should see a

SYSTEM ALL
Initialize (Y/N)

on the display

(2) Press the YES Key in the Data Entry Section while holding down the INITIALIZE
key. This procdedure initializes the entire internal memory of the CZ-1 to values
of [...]

You should see a

SYSTEM
INITIALIZED !!

message on the display...

Yes, it's one of the cursor key.. :)
