Sysex dumps VZ10m

Sysex dumps VZ10m

2006-02-09 by gilelach

I've had VZ10m for a couple of days. Trying to use Midiquest module to
edit patches without success. I have set the recv/xmit channels on the
VZ and set mem. protect off. When The only thing I manage to get is a
"MIDI buffer full". Also, do I have to set Sysex to enable every time
I power on?

i´m using midiquest without any problems here. but i don´t use it to
edit the vz. there are better editors. i prefer the one on atari
system with steem emulator! make sure you set the right midichannel,
and yes, you have to enable sysex every time....

I've had this problem before, think it has to do with data being sent to the
VZ faster than it can handle.

Yeah, see if there are any timing parameters to be set in your
application and play around with them.

Thanks for everyone's help. I've played with the delay settings in
Midiquest; still getting errors (midi error or buffer full error).
Maybe the data is bad. It also looks like I have to tell the VZ to
accept the dump? Should I be able to change a parameter in Midiquest
and have the VZ respond?

I happen to have used SoundDiver. I made a small attempt
playing with the timing but couldn't get it to work either. However,
when I say small I mean small ! I do recall asking about this on
the SD user group and some people said it worked for them.
You and I aren't that lucky. Unfortunately I don't have that
equipment hooked up at the moment and I am unfamiliar with
Midiquest. Keep messin around. If you find what the timing is, let
us know.
