HT-6000

2008-05-06 by mconfortino

Hi everybody! A few weeks ago I bought a Casio HT-6000 synthesizer. I
managed to clean it thoroughly and after replacing some switches and
cables it is working again (almost), but there is still a lot of work
to do. The problem is that I only have a .pdf of a copy of a user
manual, not enough for my needs. For example, in a press release it
says that one can assign different MIDI chanels for upper tone, lower
tone and rhytm, but in my copy of the manual it doesn't say how. Casio
Japan didn't helped, either. So I joined this group, hoping somebody
can bring any light to this. I need a full user manual, a service
manual, a circuit diagram and the specifications of the RAM card.
Thank you very much, and please excuse my english. Marcelo, from
Patagonia.

The different parts are on consecutive midi channels, depending on the keyboard mode (no split, split, Casio Chord). As far as I know, drum sounds can't be triggered by midi, but internal patterns can sync to midi clock.

I have a service manual, you can get it from http://www.wdgreenhill.com/ but it's a bit expensive. It doesn't include anything about the RAM card, but the connector pins do appear on the schematic, so you may be able to figure out something from this.

There's a self-test mode: hold Upper Tone buttons 1-3 and press Chord Off. On the display it should say "CASIO" then "HT-6000" then "Good" then show each display segment and automatically turn off. "HT-FAIL" indicates an address error, "FAIL" indicates a RAM error.

He charged me 15 GBP plus 3.95 shipping for it.
