Hello everybody!! pHede from Buenos Aires here! Does anybody have an arpeggio patch for CZ-1?!?! I´m very new in synths and find it very difficult to create cool sounds :( Is it possible to create ARPEGGIO SOUNDS with CZ´s Synths?!!? (I mean sounds like used in "Heart of Glass" from Blondie" Other cuestion: Does anybody know where I can find cool patches on the web?!(sysex or txt) THANX!!!!!!!!

Not without an external arpeggiator or a sequencer. The envelope generators in the CZ synths have no "loop" feature, so once the END point is reached, that's it. I once used an analog delay pedal with a CZ to gve a sort of pulsing sequencer effect. Simon Beck London, UK

Howdy, Look for an old Oberheim machine. It arpeggiates anything you play into it. I don't remember what it's called but it works great. you can also try doing modulation with the LFO while triggering it with a sequencer. Phede, I think the sound in Heart Of Glass is not really an arpeggio sound, it's more like a gated bass sound. You can approximate this on your CZ without the need for more equipment. It won't be a perfect solution, but it will sound similar. Use the Vibrato function like this: 1. Turn off the modulation wheel by hitting the modulation key. This is necessary for vibrato to function. 2. Create a sustained bass sound that has the tone and properties you like. 3. Now hit the Vibrato button to change the vibrato settings for the sound. Change the Vibrato Wave to "4", which is the square wave, which will give a gated sound. Set Vibrato Delay to "00", no delay. Play around with Vibrato Rate until you get it to match the tempo of your song in the way that you imagined it. Change Vibrato Depth to "99", which is the maximum. That's an ingenious solution - I'd forgotten the square-wave vibrato option! As has been said, setting it to 99 gives you a 1-octave shift at concert pitch. I once used it (at about 8 Hz) for a calliope (fairground organ) sound for an amateur pantomime production! Sadly, my current Casio, the WK-3000 won't do an exact octave, although it does still have the squarewave option. Simon
