I was pleasantly surprised when I got my CZ-1 that it had an LCD backlight (years spent in the dark peering over my CZ-3000). However, a few months ago the backlight died and I am back in the dark ages. I think this is quite a common query but can't find it in my email history; How do I go about replacing the backlight? It's been a while since I had to open the display. Get a new EL-Foil, don't open the metal casing of the display, just pull out the old one and push in the new one. You might have to cut the foil an solder contact, in case you don't get a fitting EL-Foil... they are efiols special laminated paper that can produce light when an ac voltage is aplied to the anode and cathode of the efoil http://www.backlight4you.com/index.php/cat/c130_EL-Replacements.html being a synth repair tech i have fixed many a back light i use this company they do various colours it means tacking the synth apart some desolder work and resolder work but the effort is well worth it for the next 10-15 years
