XW release timing -

XW release timing -

2012-01-24 by Wilson Zorn

I don't recall if anyone already mentioned this, but in case not and
just to confirm if you have, I spoke to an acquaintance music dealer
who's back from NAMM and he mentioned they are saying second quarter
with no further detail or notion as to whether it's earlier or later
in the quarter. So we'll probably be lucky if we see it in April and
let's just hope it doesn't slip beyond.

I don't know if my contact's any indication but he said at the price
and for what he saw it was a no-brainer to stock them. But if this is
indicative, then we might see a nice comeback for Casio!

He did indicate, btw, that in their engine they were trying to
recapture some of the Phase Distortion capability and he said he
thought or they said something to the effect that they were working on
the ability to load old CZ sysexes, but I don't want to say he
promised anything or gave a firm idea, it was clear he'd been all over
the show and was on overload. But the point to be taken is, at least,
that the guys at NAMM indicated they were at least quite aware of the
PD history and were tying to clearly honor it. Now that could easily
be lip service, but it's encouraging at least to hear at this early
stage.
