CZ3000 audio out is distorted. Anyone else experienced this?

2002-05-08 by eudoramay

Hello-- I have a deluxe CZ3000 which plays yet after an initial
note or two the sounds drop in volume slightly & distort. Has
anyone else experienced or repaired this problem? I realize it
could be several different things yet am interested in whether the
problem was fixable, required hard-to-get parts etc.

Also have The VA-10 voice arranger, sk-1, 5, & 2100 sampling
keyboards & other casios..... Have very strange CZ sounds

Thanks!

I had a similar problem with mit CZ-1 so it could be a broken relais,
in my case the problem vanished and reapeared when playing the CZ for
some time. I used a wire an connected in- output directly without the
using the relais. Since then the CZ worked fine but I'm hear a click
in my speakers when switching the synth on...

What is the difference between the deluxe CZ3000 and a normal one?

Thanks for your comments. What's the "relais"? I like the idea
of trying to possibly (if that's what you did) bypassing the amp
section (?) & will consider trying to do that. I have a soldering
iron & I guess could search (any clues?) for the beginning of the
audio out path right before the internal amp.....

As for the difference between a deluxe and a normal CZ3000,
this one has wooden sides whereas the other few I've run into
were pure plastic. Really a great sound w/ the CZ3000.... I've
been able to get sounds out of it that are quite odd and
wonderful.

Re: [CZsynth] Re: CZ3000 audio out is distorted. Anyone else experienced this?

Well, english is not my native language, an it was late when I was
answered your mail. I now checked the babelfish translator at
altavista and correct tranlation seems to be "Relay". It's an
electromagnetic switch that waits to connect the amp section with the
output until the rest of the synth ist ready. That way it prevents
clicks on startup that could destroy the connected external amplifier
when set to a high volume. I bypassed the unit since it was the
easiest way to fix it, it's probably no problem to get a new one too
and if you're good with the soldering iron you're probably able to
exchange it...

Yep, the CZ can do some great sounds, even so it was my first synt I
still use it very often ...

Is there a place/page where I can hear your music?
