CZ-1 Internal Battery Replacement

CZ-1 Internal Battery Replacement

2014-06-13 by jeromestpierre@...

Hi all,

I am an happy CZ-1 owner since last week and while was planning to replace DPDT relay as described here (because the headphone outputs are noisy and the jack outputs have a very low volume) I also wanted to change the internal lithium battery.

But surprisingly, after searching online and in this group, no one gave the battery reference when other folks where asking around. Some people guessed it's a CR2032 but no one confirmed. I already have CR2032 batteries at home but I would like to be sure I have all I need before I'll open the synth to do some work.

Does anyone know if the CZ-1 is actually using CR2032 for patch backup or it's another battery reference?

Thanks & best regards,

Jérôme

I got the answer to my question by looking at the pictures section of this group. It seems like yes, the CZ-1 is using a CR2032 battery.

Thanks anyway,

Jérôme

The first two numbers on a CR battery is the diameter in mm, i.e. 20mm. The last two numbers is the thickness. I.e. 3.2mm/2.5mm/1.6mm. The smaller the battery the less they last. They're all 3volts.

I can confirm from replacing mine that it is indeed a CR2032 with leads which I replaced with a Radio Shack battery holder of somewhat flimsy build. Do not try to solder directly to the battery. I have a replacement relay around here somewhere that I need to install too.
