FZ-20m HxC drive, Optional Software Discs, Replacement Screen HELP PLEASE

2017-01-21 by 18plusstimulator@...

LOVE this machine. My favourite music machine. but a constant nightmare since 1990.
After years of reading and trying and getting confused, I finally got it to work with bernoulli 40m drive (first one i bought as working was bust), managed to get 20 bernoulli discs from some old boy stateside for $5 each!, got the right cables, managed to find a working apple II drive of the correct capacity that works, managed to save about 100 floppies of sounds to bernoulli, working amazing... virtually a wet dream after decades of struggling.
but the life caused me to move, get disorganized, get everything separated, lose some of it, dust gathering etc.
I need this baby back in my life. But sod all the old samples and bernoulli and mac hd, even that is too much now I am so old and decrepit.

My desperate hope is that I can manage to install a HxC emulator drive, replace the backlight/screen, and have the optional software accessible on the HxC drive. I can;t afford to buy the wrong thing or mess up with soldering iron. PLEASE i'm begging can you help me achieve this. Otherwise I will have to smash the machine and myself with it ;) so close but yet so far. I have tasted the majesty of the FZ before, on occasion, i have wept blood trying to deal with it... this is #1 on my musical bucket list. I love the sound and what it does so much.

Limited funds available. And much good karma. RSVP. Respect is due.

I don't know anything about the FZs. Maybe this site has info you can use: http://www.buchty.net/ In the Casiorama section it has the most info on the FZ-1 I have ever seen. Maybe some of the info/resources will apply to your FZ, or maybe some of the links will lead you to more relevant sites. Hope it helps.
