Question about the CZ with the keystep

I recently picked up an Arturia Keystep specifically to sequence and arppegiate my CZ-1000, and to that end, I'm pretty happy. But something weird is happening — ever since it's been plugged into the keystep, it will intermittently get stuck on present 1 on startup, making it impossible to change to any other of the saved patches. Anybody else ever had this trouble? Is it something specific to my unit (some mechanical function) or is it the MIDI exchange that is somehow mucking things up? Is there some setting that I need to trigger?

If the Keystep is only sending out note data a program change data (and possibly clock bytes), I cannot imagine what might be causing the CZ to fail to respond to other program change commands (i.e., get stuck on patch 1.

I would start diagnosing the issue by looking at the data coming from the Keystep to see what all it is sending.

Not being familiar with the Keystep, I will look for a manual online to see if that tell what data it sends.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
