Hi All,
The CZ230S is probably the strangest consumer Cosmosynth ever. I
think the "S" stands for stealth, because this is one mean CZ, yet it
looks like a toy. It is actually two synths in one. The PD section
with the same innards as the CZ-101/1000, and a PCM section with the
12 drum samples burned in as Pulse Code Modulation synthesis.
The drum file you refer to, is in Soundfont format. This Soundfont
contains samples of the 12 drum sounds on the CZ-230S. Nice job too
from "cake41uk". So you can't copy these samples or PCM to a CZ synth,
since they are not really patches.
However the CZ-230S did have 100 PD presets, some are cheezy 80's
drum sounds. So I took the time to convert them to .syx files, with
a text file to identify the presets. Some are cool and unique, while
some are the same as presets another CZ's. The guitar and bass
patches are still some of the best i've ever played on a CZ.
I also recently uploaded the 2000 or so patches form "The Temple of
CZ" (Kenji's site?) and added a few of my own. The text files are all
there with the authors names. Enough patches in .syx format to keep
you busy for weeks.

Whoa - thanks. I used to have a CZ-230s (the PCM drums never worked
right), but there were a couple of patches that I liked. Now I'll be
able to reproduce them on the CZ-101!
