Ah well, I'm glad I'm not entirely alone on that feeling. The manual's "justification" is more than just a little lame. The way the Virus TI deals with this "problem" is to let you chose programs from the normal program mode to play on the different part, but when you tweak them in the combo, their changes are saved only in that combo and not the single programs.... I think that makes a whole lot of sense. On the other hand, I am glad I am now clear on what the synth can and can't do. Mine came broken, so to speak, it was not able to function properly in combo mode.
