* However, DSI offered to replace all the encoders with new apparently better ones Interesting. Where can I get more info about this offer? All the encoders on my MEK went wonky after not getting used for a few months. I figured some dust got inside them (despite the cloth cover) and a bit of DeOx would clean them. -- Iain ________________________________ From: DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of plexus Sent: Saturday, February 12, 2011 12:09 PM To: DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSI Synths] Re: Potentiometer 'upgrade' --- comments? is it a good thing? I opted not to get the pot "upgrade" as it was too expensive. And, I also felt that I should not have to pay such an amount of money to really, in the end, fix a manufacturing issue. I don't have strong feelings about DSI not offering to replace everyone's encoders that are bad, but I am leaning towards that i should be something that would have been nice for them to offer especially in an instrument in this class. However, DSI offered to replace all the encoders with new apparently better ones for the cost of $25 a board (there are 3 so $75) plus shipping. so for about $100 the problem will apparently be solved. they use a 3rd party to do the work and I understand my boards should be sent back to me soon. I don't really want the pots but having working encoders would be just great. so i am hoping this fixed the problem. we shall see...
