Hi there, I planing to get MEK soon. I know that MEK is a monophonic synthesizer. I wondering this be able to play keyboard while you start play a step sequencer or not.. Thanks

Can you play the keyboard AND the sequencer at the same time? Depends on what you mean: You can set up the MEK to use the keyboard to start/stop sequencer play. You can use the keyboard to change the pitch of the sequence (very handy) You cannot play the sequence AND play an independent melody line on the MEK or play an independent melody line while the sequencer is running something else via MIDI (although that last one would be very cool). You could always get the PEK. Or you could get the MEK and later on get a desktop. I'm loving my MEK + DEVO setup to death right now. --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, "norm" <nopawat14@...> wrote:

Will it always be Poly? If so then how do get legato mono sounds? Cheers! Oh, I think this is actually my first post :) --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, "motorzot" <angstwulf@...> wrote:

If you need to do this live you may want to go PEK which has the combo mode. It's really a matter of remembering how to quicky switch the MEK to mono and DEVO to internal clock. Still, it's easier than playing a modular on stage. You would probably want a second controller as well if you want to modulate the root note of your sequence. If you have ever dreamt about owning a Taurus, you should look at a foot controller like a Roland PK-5. It's Prog-tastic and Berlin Schooley at the same time.

But I wondered how you differentiate between Mono and Poly in your patch settings. Will it always be Poly? If so then how do get legato mono sounds? You're asking two different questions. -- You can poly chain a DEVO to a MEK to create a two voice Evolver. -- You can have a DEVO play a sequence while playing a MEK from the keyboard. Each could use the same sound or not, as you choose.

i'm also thinking of getting that set up, get a second hand devo and use that more for seqeunces, are just use that if bringin the mek tot a gig is not easy probably for later, because i'm going to start with a modular after new year > > > I'm loving my MEK + DEVO setup to death right now. > > > > I've considered this option myself. Hmmmm... I recall MeatballFulton saying that the DEVO has scratched his modular itch. Is this still the case? --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, X + Z = 0 <xpluszequalszero@...> wrote:
