Randy,

I am guessing the Concertcast was not the 10"? I was advised to keep
to a 10" to prevent it being oversized compared to the rest of the kit
so the size is not a problem - the same as the TP100.

I am still comparing the two. The Concertcast has less stick noise
and is bouncier. The volume varies considerably as you go from the
centre to the edge (more so than the Roland mesh pads, I am told).
This can be used to your advantage or it can be a nuisance, depending
on your point of view. I have the dual zone Concertcast, but it needs
either two inputs or a "magic box" to get the rim sound because it is
dual piezo. Doing cross stick sounds requires proper drumming
technique (and bashes your sticks to bits due to the metal rim)
whereas with the TP100 you can just hit the rim how you like. The
volume knob on the TP100 is handy.

I have only been drumming for a couple of years and only on electronic
kit, so my experience is rather narrow.

Keith.
