I am not sure what the sales guy was talking about but the TP60 and TP80 are both 8 inch pads.  The TP60 pad came out with the DTXpress where the TP80 pads came out with the DTX kit. I don't see the TP80 pads for sell much anymore because they are basically the exact same thing as the TP60's (which are single zone pads).  The TP80S is a 8' dual zone pad that comes as the snare on the new DTXpress kits.
