You see this is exacting why you should have a ten year old around when you put your toys together...they will read the instruction manual.....as for me.... manuals????...I don't need no stinking manuals..... Seriously, I started out with two complete sets and never really set up the basic set as shown in the diagram. I used PCYS for the hihat and changed most of the pad types from the beginning to work with the two modules. I just looked at the photo on the front cover of the DTXPRESSII manual and you are absolutely correct, the pcy65s is on the left and the pcy65 is on the right and the manual shows them connected to crash/ride respectively. I humblely apology, 50 lashing for me. I never noticed that. I had always had a 22" acoustic ride and I guess that I was so used to having a bell/bow/edge, that it just seem more logical to use the PCY65S as a ride. You learn something new everyday. Like Stewart, indicated it really does work great by setting the pad to a ride voice and the edge as crash. But Stewart, do you also set the rim to pad setting to "on". This way it sounds like you are still playing ride pattern in the background even when you hit the edge/crash. I have set one of my rides/crash this way, the others are separate with rim to pad set "off".
