I was able to get the PM-3 for the same $$ as the MS100DR and was leary of the Yamaha after the MS50 (probably should have tried the MS100DR). I kept wondering how They(Yamaha) could create such a great sounding kit and then let fly with such a subpar monitor. But let's remember here, this is one man's opinion- and an amateur at that! I am by no means an electrical or sound expert. I just thought my needs were about as minimal as they get, and just couldn't justify even $300 for something I couldn't stand to listen to. I wish now that I had tried the 100watter to allow Yamaha to redeem itself(only to me). I absolutely love the DTXtremeIIS and I'm only mildly disappointed about the monitor- not at all ready to bash Yamaha. Thanks, as always, for your insights! Dan
