But Rolands tend to be excessively expensive new, and to carry some of that elevated price tag used. Why not try Drumbalaya.com for used Yamaha components? Check out the site, anyway, and if you communicate with Ed Morin, tell him that the DTXpress Group referred you and sends regards. Ed (no relation)

I guess then there may be a different kind of mounting issue to contend with as well. I REALLY like to stick with Yamaha stuff! I've been on the look out lately on ebay, for used Yamaha pads'n things. I didn't know Drumbalaya.com has used things for sale...Huh! I'll take a closer look at this site!:) I even thought about buying a 2nd DTXpress kit so I can get a buttload of extra rack componest to expand my system. I actually have bought several pad mounts to accomodate my extra pads. Steve

Drumbalaya also has, or can get, rack parts a la carte (used and new) for kit expansion. Tell them what you need, and they'll find a way to construct it for you. By the way, rack tubing is pretty much standard from company to company.

They 'look' like they mount differently...Hmmm...I saw on Drumbalaya a whole Yamaha RS80-B racksystem for about $199.00 which looks better than my original DTXpress 1 rack system. I didn't know rack tubing was standardized, that's good to know! Thanks, Steve

There are a few mavericks, like the Pearl square rack that I use, but, by and large, the round ones are the same size. Many people who want to diminish the flimsy feel of the stock racks and mounts from Yamaha and Roland upgrade with Gibralter hardware. But shoot Ed Morin, or one of his staff, a call or email; they'll set you straight. No one else in this entire game is as well equipped and well informed as Mr. Morin is.
