dtxpress III vs. dtxpress II

dtxpress III vs. dtxpress II

2005-03-03 by ajoantmug

Hello, I am totally new here and have one broad question. brown8700
sent me over from the drumcenter.com forum. I am interested in
getting an electronic set and the dtxpress III has been highly
recommended. I am wondering what the differences are between the
dtxpress II and the dtxpress III. Any other tips or advice would be
appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Good to have you here. We have an extensive archive about the various
iterations of the DTXpress, but the short answer is that the
difference between the II and IIISTD is slight. The III has some
updated cymbal voices from Yamaha's Motif synth line. Otherwise, they
share the same basic features and upgrade path. If you're on a
budget, and a II in good condition is available to you at the right
price, you'd probably be doing yourself a favor. Make sure that the
KP-65 kick isn't damaged; it is subject to wear both inside and out
if played without some extra protection on the pad itself. If you
have any direct questions, post them. By the way, give my regards to
Brown8700.
