Transfering All Drum Samples Into Computer Daw?

Transfering All Drum Samples Into Computer Daw?

2005-04-24 by zapaxe

Is it possible to load all my drum samples of my DTXpress modules into
my computer Daw?
I guess I could play/hit and record one drum sample at a time into
Cubase, but that would be time consuming and I'd have to limit it to
my favorites.
But is there and easy way to dump all the samples in one transaction.
The reason is that I'm experimenting with software drum samplers and
want tt be able to have more samples to load into them, hopefully
including the DTXpress's samples.

Thanks! Steve

You can't dump the samples in bulk. You'll have to enter them one by
one by playing into the sampler.

I read something about a 'midi dump' but I figured that couldn't be
done with the audio.
Well, there's not that many drum & cymbal samples that I'm thilled
with anyway. So loading my favorites only will be less of a chore.

I don't own any bought drum sample CD's & out of the freebee's I've
downloaded, some of the DTXpress's snare samples don't sound too bad.

I agree about the snare samples. The DTXpress has some good ones. You
might be able to use your software to give them more body or eliminate
the machine-gun effect.

Actually, I haven't really noticed a machine gun effect with either my
DTX I or II modules, though I do get double triggers (on one hit) on
my snare.
But working with the DTXpress set within my Cubase DAW certainly has
many advantages, mostly because of using an interface on screen, and
is so intuitive to work with. And of course the endless possibilties
with using the best drum samples available.
For now I'm in the learning stage & experimenting with lesser
softwares, but something like BFD or DFHS looks mighty interesting for
my future! :)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
