Kick pad other than KP65

Kick pad other than KP65

2005-09-05 by MuratcanAk'ay

Hello... I recently purchased a DTXpress 3 to practice
in my apartment. But I soon found out that kick pad
makes a lot of noise and vibration to be used
comfortably (causes unhappy neigbhors) . the
acoustic sound of snare&tom pads are tolerable, but
I'm thinking of replacing the kick pad with a mesh pad
to eliminate the noise problem. Does anyone have any
knwoledge on which (mesh) pads are compatible with
DTXpress 3 ?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx in advance.

Muratcan

I just asked the same thing and no-one really knows. I did end up
looking at some Roland triggers and there seems to be a range of
mechanisms, one of which might make less noise.

I was looking here
<http://www.achamilton.co.uk/drums/KickTrigger.htm>, I haven't the
faintest clue how the KD7 works, for instance, but it might make less
noise.

My Yamaha supplier wouldn't vouch for a Roland part, and ACHamilton,
being Roland suppliers, wouldn't vouch for their part triggering a
Yamaha brain. U just need to try one, I guess.

There is something strange about the KD7 which makes people not like
it - I cannot remember what but it is something to do with how your
pedal beater has to swing to hit it.

Sheerers stock both Roland and Yamaha so you could possibly go down
and move a part from a Roland to the Yamaha and see if it works. They
have always been helpful.

Hello!

I have the same problem. If you figure something out, please let me
know.

Thanx!
