It is intended for importing drum tabs, but I just use it for writing drum parts. Most music notation software I have tried seem to be very poor at catering for drum kits. http://2112design.com/ Keith.

Gator,
I am not sure if is quite what you want, but I find Tabtrax useful for
quickly turning drumming into printable music. It is intended for
importing drum tabs, but I just use it for writing drum parts. Most
music notation software I have tried seem to be very poor at catering
for drum kits.

I lost my software that I had, when I moved a few months ago., that is why I'm looking for something new. I don't think so, but you can play an MP3 or WAV file while it simultaneously plays the drum part you have written. There is a start offset so you can synchronise them and it shows an image of the audio file. It isn't perfect by any means, but for the money it is quite good. I started to use it to sort out all the scraps of paper I am left with when my drum teacher leaves, and also to help sorting out the drum parts for new songs. Keith.

I'm a little confussed now. Neither. You can simply play the wav while it plays the drum part you have written. However, you don't have to use the wav/mp3 feature if you just want some notation software. There is software which will try to create a midi or music score from an audio file, but I haven't found one which is accurate and anything but hard work yet. Keith.

I'm looking for something to pick up my hits off the triggers and assign them to lines on the sheet music. You would think with all the stuff out there for doing scores for piano, that something would work to pick up the triggers. Even if there was something we could find to pick up each trigger hit that we could assign the lines per that trigger would be great. Tabtrax won't record the pad hits - it is simply a method of creating your own drum score. There may be something which will turn your pad hits into music - I don't know. You can certainly record your session on the DTXpress [midi] and there is software which will turn midi into music, but I don't know how well they work for drums. MidiIllustrator is one http://www.midiillustrator.com/ I am afraid drums are very poorly catered for in many areas of music. Have you every tried to find some drum music for popular songs? If you played guitar it would be no problem :-( Keith.

With the sequencer you can make sheet music, if you use the correct drum map. I use cubase to record my drums and make drumscores for songs. Tom
