RHH 130 Hi-Hat

RHH 130 Hi-Hat

2008-01-09 by BHBA

Could not see this post addressed. I have the DtxtremeIII with RHH 130
Hi Hat. Everything is set up per manual, only issue is with the RHH
130Hi-Hat. Not sure if its a problem or just how it performs, but the
stick noise is far louder than any typical volume setting for a hi-hat.
Is there something I am missing or is this just the way it is.
Another ? pertaining to the ride symbal. Although it is set up
correctly and I am connected with a stero cable, the cup, cybal, and
edge are not recognized. If in any setup mode, I strike the cup, pad,
or edge and nothing changes.??

Presumably you mean DTXpress III?

When you say "stick noise", do you mean the sound of the stick hitting
the rubber or the sound of the hihat from the module in relation to
the other drum sounds? If the latter then you could reduce the "GAIN"
in the trigger edit menu. I am not sure about the RHH130, but I would
expect there is a gain pot somewhere on it, accessible with a
screwdriver.

Is the module trigger setup correctly? It should be set up as PCY1 or
PCY2 depending on whether you have the PCY150S or PCY130S. When in
the voice edit menu and you hit the bell or rim, does the display show
"rideE" or "rideC" rather than just "ride"? Is it plugged into inputs
2, 6 or 7?

Keith.

The physical sound made by the stick hit the rubber surface on the
RHH130 is quite loud. Go to www.dtxperience.com and search for RHH-130
silencing or Dishtowel, I think. One of the members opened the pad up
and put his wife's dishtowel inside and it makes considerably less sound
now. ( I am serious, not joking on this.)

Also, I think you had to set the trigger settings to "SP Dyna" (or SP
med) when using the RHH130/PCY150 pads with the Dtxpress III module. It
was offered as a standard and a special version.
