Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I know that this topic has been brought up in the past, and i've 
tried searching the archives, but it all seems Greek to me.  I'm 
trying tofigure out how to get to the GM Keyboard Voices listed in 
the back of the manual (Guitar, Bass, Piano, etc.), but i can't 
figure out how.  Maybe my brain is too burnt out from work, I don't 
know, but it's starting to get on my nerves.  Is it a MIDI channel 
thing?  I can't figure it out, and this manual is oh-so vague.  Any 
help would be greatly appreciated on this subject.

Have you tried other Midi Channels?  The only other
thing I would suggest if that doesn't work, or no one
can give you a tried and tested answer is to call
Yamaha Apps. specialist@1-888-892-6242...ask you will
be prompted for parts ect, tell them you want to speak
to an Application Specialist for the DTX...you will be
assigned a case#, and they will ask you for your
phone#.  You probably will NOT hear from them
immediately, it may take a day or a few days-let them
know your time zone and what is a good time to reach
you at home...they WILL call back.

Brett,

Yup, it's a midi channel and midi note thing. The drums sound that 
you're getting now from the pads are on channel 10. If you change 
the midi channel and the note number on any input to one of the 
channel/note number pairings listed in the back of the manual for 
the GM voices, you'll be able to make a standard midi keyboard 
sound. But you won't be able to do much more than that.
