Hi-Hat Function.

Hi-Hat Function.

2003-08-07 by psmperry@aol.com

For some reason my hi-hat close function does not work anymore. The open and close with a stick strike work fine. Just the pedal sound itself doesn't work. Tried different sets, checked the graph, nothing. Pedal gone bad?
Thanks for your help....perry

Does the footsplash sound work? Did you try a different stereo cable?

Nope, The footsplash does not work. I'll try another cable to see if it
helps. Thanks for the advise.

Hey Perry, and anyone else,

I can't remember: Does footclose on the Xpress have its own
parameters in the voice menu? If the cable checks out okay, it's
possible, I guess, that something vital got deleted accidentally from
the settings (like the voice itself?). Also, is something amiss with
the common hi hat sensitivity setting in the voice menu, or the
offset/time settings in utility? If not, the pedal may have a
mechanical problem that keeps it from running its full course. I've
run into something similar, and have duplicated the problem
artificially, with another company's controller, by shortening the
throw, although when I do so, I don't get a closed hat stick sound.

The hihat has settings for:

pad open
pad close
rim open
rim close
foot close
foot splash

I,m pretty sure I had a hi-hat close parameter at one time. I'll do a factory
reset since I don't have any user kits I really need to keep.

te problem.

Perry,

Have you had any luck in fixing the problem yet?

I took one of my HH65 apart and posted photos in the photo gallery.

It appears that the footsplash and footstomp are only activated by
the end ridge on the bottom of the curved rubber pad. Check to see if
something has gotten in the way of the rubber pad that would keep it
from going all the way down.

Found the problem. Cable was bad. I should have checked this before asking
for help. Duhh. Thanks for your help.

What I've learned about the group by being a moderator... :)

2003-08-13 by Vernon Graner

This is really, sort-of off-topic, but relevant as it deals with the
group directly. :)

Since becoming a moderator on this group, I've been receiving all the
Join and Unsubscribe notifications. What I am amazed by, is that it seems
we get about 2 (or sometimes more!) new members a *week* and only about 1
member a week (or less) unsubscribes! At this rate, the group should be
getting *much* larger. :) Also, so far no new member postings have been
from a SPAMmer. All new posts that have come in for moderation clearance
(at least the ones *I've* seen, somedays I'm slow on the draw!) have been
%100 legit!

Just thought some of you might like to know what it looks like from up
here in the moderators chair! :D

Vern.

Oh yes I know what its like I used to be the Founder/Mod of the
Olympus 5050 digicam users Yahoo group, but the time I closed it (cos
Im not keen on Yahoo, with its advertising and pop-ups) I went from 0-
960+ members in 6 months or so,I moved my group over to a website
called digi-darkroom.com,and I must admit it is about 10 times
better than Yahoo (it is run by vBulletin),I`m glad that we wont be
seeing anymore spam on this site, but the problem is also happening
on other Yahoo sites, its a shame that there so many who want to
spoil it for others.

Guess where a lot of the ads and such are going instead of to the
group? The group owner's Yahoo mailbox, that's where. I've had about
ten so far that I've asked Yahoo to block and/or track.
