hi all. got tired of my standard DTXII so i decided to turn my module, triggers, mesh heads, and my remo acousticon kit into a kind of... thing. i saw the instructions for the vibraion riser a while ago and thought id give it a try seeing as my parents complained about the noise through the ceiling. i even got hailed as a genius AFTER telling everyone it wasnt my idea. but i went along with it anyway 8) anyway, heres the links (anyone else here from the pearl forum) drivers seat view http://209.25.203.234/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25859 the riser http://209.25.203.234/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24330 later

I read the thread in the Pearl group. How 'bout doing a report on its effectiveness for us? As you said in that other place, no one here seems to have given it a try. Ed

As was mentioned in another thread, it might be a good idea to line the inside surfaces of the unit with some type of absorbent substance to keep the to parallel surfaces from "ringing" at a harmonic frequency. Maybe after cutting out the holes, cut a piece of carpet with holes the size of the tennis balls and cover the inner surfaces with it. Or maybe wrap the whole thing in cloth and then fill the space between the two plywood pieces with packing peanuts or something of that nature to consume the open air between the boards. I sure would like to hear the results of one of these platforms, but I haven't built one ... even though I'm on the 2nd floor in my house, no one has complained... :D Vern PSD: Could be cause all the kids rooms are upstairs and the room is on the opposite end of the house from the master bedroom, so there's no one to complain but the cats... :) -- Vern Graner CNE/CNA/SSE | "If the network is down, then you're Senior Systems Engineer | obviously incompetent so why are we Texas Information Services | paying you? Of course, if the network http://www.txis.com | is up, then we obviously don't need Austin Office 512 328-8947 | you, so why are we paying you?" VLG liberatusvirus said:
