Last spring I posted several notes about using the 2K2LK ink formula on Red River Polar Metallic paper. I used MIS D2-4-K black dye ink with the PR-Clearbase-PT solution. After some work I got it to print very nicely. Some time ago I noticed that the prints are starting to fade. Not only are they fading, they are turning RED. The darker the area the more red it is becoming. In one print I also have some blue in the whites. Mounted along with these prints are some others using UT-14 ink and '5/6' UT-14. (gloss prints with MIS D2-4-K in the black position in place of the Ebony carbon black) These prints are still perfect despite being up to a year older than the 2K2LK prints and hanging in the same light. I don't know if this is an issue with the ink or with the paper. I have some color prints on this paper that I think are also fading. I did not print on other papers for comparison. Looks like with RR Metallic this isn't a reliable combination.
