Andre, The new MIS GP Archival inkset is not a B&W inkset. It's a color inkset that takes the UltraChrome-equivalent "MIS 7600" inkset to a pigment load that works better with the printers that were not designed for high-load inks. >I'm presently using MIS-FSN ink with an Epson 1160. I will have to re- >order soon and I just come across these new inks from MIS. I assume FS-N will be available for some time. I don't think a replacement for this ink exists at the current time. >1- What are the advantage of MIS GP Archival Inkset over the MIS-FSN >as to dmax and lightfastness if any. The new variable-tone/mix inkset that I've mixed is based on the MIS 7600 UC-clone inks. The Photo and Light blacks are not only RC paper compatible, but also significantly more lightfast than the base inks used in the FS inkset. This vm version -- my UC VM 4.3 -- has not been released by MIS yet. MIS has a new high-load matte black also, but it has not been released, as far as I know. It's just like PiezoTone Museum. It's so good I wouldn't be surprised if MIS uses it in all it's inksets for matte paper. But, the FS black is also quite good. So, I would not hesitate to continue to use it.
