I need advice on how to proceed: I bought 7 Epson carts from Japan, which are for the Epson 2100, and they are identical to the ones I have in the printer, but when I tried to use them, the message says its incompatible. I presume the chip somehow won't let me use carts sold in Japan in Asia-Pacific Epson printers. (i'm in Malaysia). Other than throw the Japanese carts away and consider it a lesson learnt (in how not to arbitrage), possible ways of utilising the ink in these incompatible carts, I think, are: 1. extract the ink from these incomptible carts and fill them into a used cart., after using the chip re-setter on the used cart. Anyone know how to extract ink from a 2100/2200 cart? 2. buy some extra chips (available from MIS?) and replace the chips on the Japanese carts with these new chips. This seems much less messy, but I'm concerned that the new chips may completely screw up my printer. Has anyone tried replacing these 'extra' chips ? Any thoughts on these two options, and any other ways to use the inks in these incompatible carts., would be much appreciated. Regards, Andrew Lee
