Do you really just lay the negatives down on the scanner?  Not in the
holder?  wowo.  How do you keep the negatives flat?  I would like to
try that on my 2450 but I didn't think it possible...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
