Well ...  

Let's say that for most B&W printers a good refurbished 1280 looks like a
real bargain to me.  Those separate 2200 carts are handy for someone like
me, but all those chips to mess with for quality that is not visibly better
to me is a real questionable expenditure of money.  The speed is the main
difference that might matter to most if a CFS were installed.

I'm using the 5.40 that came with the CD.  It seems to be fine.   Hopefully
any upgrades at this point will not alter the ramps for the curves I've
written.
