While researching digicams I downloaded and printed several sample images from dpreview.com. One of them had slightly dark bands running horizontally through the landscape oriented print, opposite to head travel. They were evenly spaced, about 3/16" wide. Didn't look anything like microbanding or dither banding. At first I thought the printer was goofy, but other prints were fine. That print always had it. I couldn't see anything in the image on screen. Never did figure it out. So try other images and see what happens.
