Mike, At http://www.livick.com/method/inkjet/pg2d2.htm, about 1/3 of the way down the page, Livick seems to have some tests that indicate up to a 681 year longevity for MIS Ultra Tone ink printed with a 1280. Livick uses outside direct sun for testing, as best I can tell. I don't think he even uses a plain glass between the sun and the test strip. So, there is a lot of very short wavelength UV in the light source. Plain window glass usually filters this out in indoor display. With this light source, coatings that have a UV absorber in them will probably have a major advantage, which might not be the case in normal indoor display. Clearshield has such a UV absorber. Lascaux spray and Hydrocote do not. Livick seems to have been looking at various combinations of sprays and coatings. I don't really understand all the test results, but, needless-to-say, I'm pleased to see the Ultra Tone ink doing so well. But the numbers seem impressive and I'm curious if similar tests have been done elsewhere for prints with fixatives (like Clearshield or Lascaux) applied.
