I am a bit confused, too. Has their been a recent change in the MIS VM inksets in the last several weeks? I just purchased a 4oz test size for use in my 1160 about a month ago. Works great for me. If I had one criticism ( we photographers are always very picky) it was I would like a little more punch in the blacks, BUT not at the expense of the archival life of the inks. In other words, I don't want dyes mixed in that could increase metamerism or decrease life. Is there a new revised inkset that I need to know about? Bill >Thanks to Paul for all this good news. I wish I was in a position to >take advantage of all of it. But I think I'd better start with just >the VM-Sepia-Neutral. And if I understand Paul's first paragraph >below, which is doubtful, I now can. > >If so, for use in a CIS for the 1160, should I order on ><inksupply.com>, quoted here: > >>MIS VARIABLE MIX QUADTONE INKSETS - For use with Paul Roark Workflows >> VM-QUAD-SET (4) FOUR OZ BOTTLES - Dark, Med, VM1, Black $56.00 > >and substitute the toner they send along with it (in a bottle?) for >the "Med" bottle? > > >Will I later need, to re-fill the toner bottle: > >>INKS FOR CUSTOM TINTING - For those who want to make their own inkset >> ESC-BASE-PT PINT BOTTLE OF BASE STOCK - Clear $24.00 > >or is this "base stock" not the same as the "toner" they sell on request? > > >I would call MIS up tomorrow and ask them these questions except that >when I called Friday to ask about the new Full Spectrum (color, not >Quadtone) inkset, I got the impression that the person staffing the >phone might not understand what we're up to.
