Based on the mention of Red River here a few times I went back and have taken a second look at their papers. I must say the Red River Aurora Natural is one heck of a bargain. See http://www.redrivercatalog.com/browse/auroranatural.html It looks a lot like Moab Entrada Natural, with a dmax that is a hair less, and a price that is way less. It's even less than the Premier Art 205 that I think is a bargain. Red River is now on my preferred paper list. A set of QTR curves for R1800 3-MK workflow are posted at http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/QTR-R1800-RedRiverAurora.zip Paul www.PaulRoark.com <http://www.paulroark.com/> _____ From: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Paul Roark Sent: Wednesday, October 17, 2007 7:30 PM To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com Subject: RE: [Digital BW] Re: Red River Greenpix recycled paper The Red River Aurora Natural is a nice, smooth non-OBA paper similar to Premier Art 205 (Epson Scrapbook), but the paper base is just slightly whiter. The dmax was about 1.62 with the 3-MK approach. The brightened version didn't make the cut at 1.56. While it's not in your list, Polar is like Premier Art's Matte BW, with a 1.69 dmax and very cold base. I didn't try any of the glossy papers due to my view that MK is not the right ink for that surface. Has anyone tried their Aurora Natural, River Linen, LuxArt Satin Rag for BW printing? Or 3MK? Any comments on dmax or subjective feeling, banding, flacking etc. Many thanks, Denis Bouchard [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
