It used to be said that new printers had a preservative in the heads that
was best cleaned out with Epson inks.  I'm not sure that is correct now.

If there is a problem, Epson will certainly ask if you're using OEM inks.

It might be worth just putting in the inks you want and seeing if the system
works.  If it doesn't then go to the OEM inks and see if they help.
