Peter,

We have the same setup and while I have experienced the image degradation
you describe a few times it was always due to a nozzle clog on the black
cartridge which cleared up with a nozzle clean or two.

The install instruction with my NoMoreCart CIS had a warning about the black
tube catching and they said to bend up the corner of the printer housing you
are talking about to make sure it does not contact the tube. I did this but
the plastic has a memory and tends to sink back down so I have periodically
checked it and tugged on the housing to pull it back up again.

Maybe yours droops a bit more than the norm and you should consider cutting
this corner off altogether. At least the tube didn't break!

Martin

Martin,

I've had the periodic nozzle dropouts in the black (and cyan for some
reason) and I'm wondering if that was a prelude to this. Is there any
wear at all on the tubing leading to the black cart on your printer?
(This one has a small white spot with rough edges and maybe some vinyl flakes\ufffd)

That corner of the printer housing has a definite droop so I'll probably
cut the thing off. Hadn't prior to this because I didn't want to do
anything destructive to the printer. But the vision of ink spewing out
of a hole worn in the tubing for the 30-40 minutes it take to print an
image has me rethinking that. I might even go so far as to trash that
piece of tubing and cart and replace it with new.

Peter,

No wear marks on mine yet. The occurrence of clogs does seem to be
increasing with time. I may decide to change out the cartridge end of the
CIS and see if that helps.

Mine droops too but it clears the small piece of black tubing by 1/16". If
it broke you would get some ink spillage into the printer but probably not a
huge amount since the system would loose vacuum and might just start sucking
air in. Probably would run out once the printing stopped.

If you do cut it off, please post how it went and what you use.

Thanks,
Martin
