Frank,

I never ran into this with the Eclipse Satine but brushing off the paper
before printing is a good practice in any case. I use what is called a
counter brush which I think you can get from Light Impressions or maybe Dick
Blick. I have had mine for years for brushing off prints and boards during
dry mounting.

[Digital BW] Re: white spots appear on print - & How long for a print to dry ?

2002-03-09 by frankg_photo

> I never ran into this with the Eclipse Satine >

Maybe that's not my problem after all. I will start 'dusting off' the
paper and keep an eye on it. At least eliminate the possibility.

How long would you say it takes a print to Dry - before you can store
it face down or let it touch a surface without the possibility of
marking the "emulsion" ?

Buy "The Shark" vacuum and go to town. (about $29 or knockoff at $19.95)....or go manual and buy a drafters brush.

Thanks Jennifer & Martin - what you're saying would make sense....
because I don't see the specks when the image is first printed, it
only appears a few days later, when I retrieve it and have another
  look. And not consistantly either.
I will try and blow off or dust off the paper first. Do you use
any 'tool' in particular for this ?
I've been using Eclipse Satine paper.

Jerry,
Have you had this with eclipse Satine ?

I found one of those orange col anti-static cloths that Ilford makes -
 should do the trick

Hi Frank,

Only one time. And that was a time I didn't wipe down the paper. This really helps. I am also using the Ilford Orange cloth.
