Well I guess the usual: run the thing at least once a day if you can
afford it or a few days anyway, a quick draft purge print. Keep
humidity at 35%RH minimum, 40-45%RH preferred. If the ink and/ or CIS
have been around for a year, consider replacing. Favor putting drops
of Windex/Fantastik/alcohol/ ethylene glycol (choose you favorite) on
the parking pad, or better, soak up the excess ink that may build up
on the pad by repeatedly putting drops on, then sopping it up. Then
clean the rim of parking pad. The towel under the printhead trick
might work- it was best for me to clear up blobbing of ink and nozzle
lines that jumped up and down in the pattern, usually not absense of
the line.
I lean toward doing more printer turn ons, and parking pad dropping
and less cleaning cycles these days. I will rarely do more than two in
a row. Usually no more than one. Then I just let it sit.
My wild guess is it IS due to air, not a clog, even though it's the k
position. You could also check for proper seating of CIS cart, leaks
in tubing. MIS has an interesting way of getting air out of the cart
(not the printhead) should this be the case, I think in their CFS FAQ
page(?).
Plunking new Epson carts back in for a short spell (for 20% of ink)
might clear the air, or at least isolate problem to either printhead
or CIS cart(s).
Hope I helped.
Good luck,
