Nij-
Thank you for the fine post. I posted a message a couple of days ago
with a possible solution and I didn't credit you as the source from
you email to me because I didn't know if that would embarrass you as
a Piezo reseller. Since you have posted, it obviously doesn't and I
complement you for taking the effort to try to help us extend the
usefulness of our Piezo software.
I do have two questions on your website posting. You state that you
used the 1290 driver and renamed it from 1270 to 1290. This confuses
me, if you install the 1290/80 driver, it will read "Epson Stylus
Photo 1280" but have a problem finding the printer. I simply renamed
he existing 1270 driver and that seems to work for a decent print but
is all over the page on positioning...any thoughts on that?
Secondly, you mention that you realigned for the Photo Rag paper. I'm
wondering how important you think this is and if you are able to
detect a misallignment with the Epson software before you align. This
is pretty expensive if you bounce back and forth from paper to paper
since you need a fresh sheet of the "new" paper to do the alignment
check, don't you?
Thanks,
Tom O'Connell
