Mac curves/posterization

Mac curves/posterization

2002-05-16 by darinb20855

Has anyone been able to get prints on a Mac with a 1280 and the Epson
driver? I'm trying to use VM inks and I downloaded Paul's curves from
the MIS web site and followed (I think) the intructions. Severe
posterization. Tried playing with Tyler's curves. Ditto. I searched
the archives here and see that people are working on new curves and
that others have had this problem in the past (with no solutions).

Am I correct to assume that this is still up in the air or is there
something else I should try? I'm using EAM and Photo Rag, VM inkset
(also have FS), the Epson 1280 and Photoshop 7.

I'd love to make a decent print....help!

I get pretty good prints using Tyler's curves on my mac.

I did have some posterization problems for a while using Paul's
curves. I also had a problem with a bad batch of ink - are you using
carts or bulk inks?

And are you using OSX or OS9? It seems to be a little harder to use
Paul's curves with the OSX driver, as there is no "automatic" mode.
(Though the "photo realistic" mode works ok)

Do you get good stepwedges?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
