trail of ink blots ??

trail of ink blots ??

2002-10-04 by frankg_photo

I've been printing an image in the centre of a sheet, which has a
wide white paper border around it, on 13x19 paper.

Down one side, in the blank white border, not in the image area, the
side at the end of the printheads travel, it seems to be dropping a
trail of ink blots, not in a perfectly straight line, but sort of
like a row of drunk ants. Each drop is about the size of a large-ish
pin head

What on earth is this and how can I remedy it ?

I could scan and post or email the problem if my description isnt
clear ?

MIS sepia>neutral inks and an 1160

thanks
Frank

Frank,

if you know your way around the printer, it's possible to turn the main wheel by
hand (the big white plastic geared wheel to the left) while you hold a wet
(lintless) paper towel against the little rubber wheels that press the paper
down. As they turn they will unload ink on your towel.

Plus take a look at the FAQ at the IJM site. Lots of details there too.

Antonis

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
