I wonder if this is an RC paper that would work well with the new
RC-compatible inksets. I'd like to find some good alternatives to Premium
Luster and full-on glossy RC paper.

Paul,

The Pictorico Dualside (luster surface on both sides), Photo Gallery
Glossy, and Photo Gallery High Gloss White Film all take the Epson 2200
UC inks beautifully with virtually no bronzing compared to the
comparable Epson glossy and luster papers. I think the ceramic coating
on the Pictorico papers pulls the inks in more with less stacking near
the surface.

Paul,
As I'm only using MS-FSN inks, I do not have any experience with the
new RC-compatible inksets. But, Ilford does have an eight sheets
sample pack containing 4 papers: Classic Gloss, Smooth Gloss, Classic
Pearl and Smooth Pearl.

Might be worth a try.
Cheers,
Andre

I'm also very curious about the Epson "semi-matte" RC paper. It's only in
rolls for some reason. I'm going to see if I can get some samples. An RC
paper with a matte finish sounds interesting. It's said to get the same dmax
as the Premium Luster, which is very good.

Its not a matte finish. Brightcube started the semi-matte terminology. Its
really a semi-gloss paper. My hunch is that it is identical to Epson's
semi-gloss which is sold in smaller packs. You might want to ask on the
9000 list...I'm sure someone will know for sure. Rub off problems with all
the standard quads. In my opinion the Ilford papers are useless with the
quad inks...terrible rub off.

Yes, the Ilford Gallerie Smooth is the best of the pearl/luster RC papers,
feel/surface wise...it was just a shame how poorly it performed with the
quads...my guess is that it will work fine with the Epson 10000 black ink.
I'll try some with the Ultrachromes tomorrow. Its also cheap and available
in 250 sheet boxes.
