Re: [Digital BW] Making slides for portfolio?

I generally just use Kodak Elite film for this (I find it reasonably neutral and forgiving), but set up studio strobes at 45degrees each side and have no problem with colour cast. Otherwise, just use Agfa Scala B&W slide film (but remember you have to send it out to one of the few labs the process it) - should do a pretty good job. In that case I imagine you could use a couple of high wattage household bulbs. I used to do this with darkroom prints. Now, when I needs slides for a professional competition (or Arts Council grant or such), I just print off the images and copy. Actually, now I think about it, if you are printing Quads, Scala may give you nicer blacks than the prints! Yep - getting digital slides made may be convenient, but it's damned expensive!
