Sorry, I know I've read some opinions on this but can't find it again. Is it necessary to run color Epson carts through a new 1280 before (in my case) the MIS VM set? I understand it may be easier to repair/replace if there is no trace of 3rd party inks. But, I also recall something being said about solvents in Epson inks that are needed when first installing? Thanks, Jeff

Jeff, Though I have no special information or experience with it, I'd run the Epson inks through the printer first to be sure everything is working and clean out the alleged substances that are in new heads. I think the Epson carts seal up nicely after use, so keep them for the future. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com ___________________________________

I understand it may be easier to repair/replace if there is no trace
of 3rd party inks.
But,
I also recall something being said about solvents in Epson inks

Thanks,

Jeff, I concur with Paul. You want to check out the printer as it was meant to run. Anything wrong and you can just take it back to where you bought it. The cartridges do seal and keep well. Hang on to them as them make excellent cleaning cartridges is you should get a bad clog. Not likely with the VM though. Thanks Paul and Martin. By the way, while the VM inks have worked very well for the past year-and-a-half, I'm looking forward to the new MIS UC clone BW that Paul is cooking up. I used the MIS VM right from the start. No problems. Jerry The inks are totally compatible. "Jeff Korte " wrote:
