Hi Martin, Is there an editor for the ICQ paper profiles ??? From my limited tests with the ones used by the Piezography software, the EAM is very smooth - other paper profiles have some major gradient step changes. I'd like to tweak the EAM profile to expand the very last few % of the K end of the scale... Thanks, Alex --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Martin Glader" <martin.glader@k...> wrote:

I've had to right click them and install so that they end up where I can choose one. Is that the right way? Along those same lines. When you go to print an RGB file on the Epson 2200 Set the source to the profile The print space to: Printer management? or ???? Then the screen where you set the paper type do you set the mode for ICM under the Mode section, then to advanced and set color management to ICM. Do you still choose one of the Epson mediatypes? I'm really fuzzy on how to do this. I apologize that this is probably not the appropriate group to ask this question but there are so many knowledgeable people in this group. So if any one can clear this up for me I would appreciate it. Billie [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Two choices: 1) Select Printer Color Management in PS, then select ICM and the profile in the driver. 2) Select the profile in PS, then select ICM and No Color Adjustment in the driver. In both cases, the source space must be Document. -- Ciao, Paul D. DeRocco Paul mailto:pderocco@...

Alex, I have never had the need to edit the ICQ profiles so I wouldn't know. I'm using the Cone driver with the paper profiles supplied with the software and then fine-tune the monitor preview for each particular paper with custom dot gain curves. I'm mostly using Hahnem\ufffdhle Photo Rag though. The method is also described in the Piezography manual. Martin Glader ----- Original Message ----- From: "B. hello, When I download the profiles for the epson papers, or any papers for that matter, how do I get them from the file I load them to either the QTR or the epson printer page. I educated my self on profiles thru several articles being I didn' t get a response on my post as to learning profiles, but nowhere was it mentioned as to how they get from one place to the other so they can be used. thanks Frank "The luckiest dogs are those with clipped tails....they're the ones who won't be chasing their own arses." __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Frank, I did not see you mention your OS; MAC, PC? Color Sync or C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\DRIVERS\COLOR And Vista is different? You can right click and "install" profiles and depending on some applications you need to do that. I set up a shortcut on my desktop so I don't need to navigate to the color profile folder on the Windows XP systems. You can save them directly to that folder or save to a different download folder for profiles and then copy or install them. I like to keep them in a separate download folder with subfolders for supplier; Red River, Cranes, Epson, Innova, etc. You can also keep the ones you make separate. It might help down the line when you need to reload them or update them. thanks I have windows XP Media. I also have them in a separate folder called "profiles". What I do, from what you said, is find the profile>click install and they will install. Do I direct them to install someplace or do they just install on their own to the epson drivers. thanks for the help Frank --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Eric Neilsen" <e.neilsen2@...> wrote: > > Frank, I did not see you mention your OS; MAC, PC? Frank, Right click on them, you may need to click one at a time, and select install. That should put them in your XP color folder where they will be seen by ICC compliant programs. Lightroom for one, was one of those programs that required an "install" rather than just dropping it in the Color folder. The settings that you want for the driver will have all those great Epson names SP3800, or SPW 4800, stuff like that and those will tell the driver how much ink to use and those are set in the properties tab in the driver. Depending on the OS and printer you may want to make one a default or allow the driver to select auto. well Eric and all, This is what I did I downloaded the profiles from the Epson site. They went right to my desktop and I had no control to put it in that Windows/32/Color etc, folder I right clicked them .nothing that said install. I clicked them they unzipped and again I could not put them in that Windows/32/Color etc folder. The fine art profile went into C:\epson\epson12364_r1800_icc_profiles_fine_art, and the other profiles went into similarly named folders. NOW to CS2 I go to Print with Preview and chose Let PS determine colors Went to PRINT Went to PROPERTIES Went to ADVANCED Another screen choose PRESENTATION MATTE as my paper Is THIS a profile???? I have been doing this for 5 years. BUT, If I go to ICM I do see in the last box Printer Profiles and the paper listed as SPR1800 Photo Qlty IJP If I click off ICM I have choices for Epson Vivid, Epson Standard, or Adobe RGB. What do I do here. Do I do anything here? Why didn't the profiles go to the desktop and not that special Windows32/Drivers etc etc. I am very very confused here folks. I get directions from people, follow them and what I am directed to do doesn't work as it does for others. There is NO book for this, NO manual, nothing. How are people supposed to know what to do I really don't want to buy another book just to learn profiles. I have been printing from lower end printers for years, have sold many many 8x10's and 11x14's and have been doing photography for almost 40 years and owned my own studio and custom black and white lab, and. I have NEVER found anything that is supposed to be SO important to have so little resources as to how utilize them (profiles). Thakns for the help, any more help to get me out of this quagmire will be appreciated. Frank and if I can ever get the QTR to show up and work, I will be doubly happy. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Eric Neilsen" <e.neilsen2@...> wrote: > > Frank, Right click on them, you may need to click one at a time, and select > install.
