piezo vs lyson

piezo vs lyson

2003-12-12 by joseph3612000

i have just attained an epson 1280 for strictly black and whites. i
have read threads and know that of course piezo stands alone i have
also read that lyson does a great job. my question is i am new to
black and white and was wondering is it worth paying 299.00 for
piezo starter B&W kit or should i just buy the cartridges and go at
it blind with no profiles. and if so should i go lyson or piezo. i
want the prints to last with no fading. i know its pretty much
personal taste but i would like to here those of you who have been
in it for awhile. thank you for your time and happy holidays. joe

i have just attained a epson 1280 for black and white and was
wondering if i should go with lyson or piezo. the problem there is
they want 299.00 for the piezo kit. my big question is should i get
just the inks or should i buy the whole kit. i am new to black and
white and i'm not sure if it would be worth paying for a bunch of
profiles. i know its all just personal taste but would like to here
from the pros here. thanks for any help that you offer. have a great
day joseph

I would answer what I was answered: why not try the UT inks with the Paul Roark
curves? I just got them, and I am really impressed. Much cheaper, by the way.
